Jenny and Bruce Wooster, Farmers
Jenny Hausman Wooster fell in love with growing food in her twenties, then she fell in love with Bruce! Bruce fell in love with all things agricultural in his youth, and then he fell in love with Jenny! Jenny & Bruce have built Picadilly Farm together since 2005, alongside their two growing children, Beckley and Jesse.
Hundreds of others have worked and volunteered on the farm over the years. Currently, the farm crew is comprised of:
Armando Basilio de la Cruz, seasonal field crew, part of the farm since 2016.
Armando joins us each spring from Isla de Tecuena, in Michoacán, Mexico. He is newly married as of January 2021!
Luis Candelario Trinidad, seasonal field crew, part of the farm since 2018.
Luis joins us each spring from Guadalajara, in Jalisco, Mexico. He enjoys working on his newly-built home in the off-season.
Patrick Woods, Mechanic and Field Technician, long-time farm crew.
For Patrick, it was love at first sight when Picadilly opened it's doors in 2005. He's been lending a hand in one capacity or another ever since, and is currently our "Jack-of-all-trades." When he's not underneath the belly of a tractor, he can be found in his garage at home, tinkering away. His favorite veggies to take home from the farm are sweet potatoes and spinach!
Jose Dominguez Roberto, seasonal field crew, part of the farm since 2017.
José joins us each spring from Janitzio, in Michoacán, Mexico. He is an accomplished athlete, and devoted father of two young children.
Mo Rosenberg, Greenhouse Manager and Office Administrator, part of the farm since 2016.
Mo began farming in 2007 in upstate New York, and after pursuing a few other career paths, decided that she needed to stick her hands in the dirt again. In addition to being the greenhouse manager and administrative assistant, she also focuses her efforts on planning the flower and hot pepper P.Y.O. gardens. She's currently exploring the world of lactic acid fermentation, and makes a mean waffle to boot!
Yiovan Basilio de la Cruz, seasonal field crew, part of the farm since 2017.
Yiovan joins us each spring from Isla de Tecuena, in Michoacán, Mexico. He is a dedicated husband, and father of three young children. Many young children call him “Tio”, and look forward to unpacking his suitcase full of gifts when he returns to Mexico every November.
David Pontius, delivery driver, part of the farm since 2015.
David is a former traveler and coffee shop owner, and the now proud the father of two growing boys, Evan and Dylan.
Beckley and Jesse Wooster, long-time farm crew, part of the farm since 2005 and 2010, respectively :)
When they’re not in school, Beckley and Jesse can often be found running around barefoot on the farm, both eating as many peas and melons as humanly possible. Beckley also enjoys time spent working in the washbarn, while Jesse’s favorite farm job is harvesting watermelons with Bruce and carrots with Jenny. Outside of the farm, Beckley enjoys Nordic skiing, dance and art, while Jesse gravitates towards soccer, reading, skiing and, of course, video games! Luckily, the latter activity gets balanced out with plenty of farm sunshine.
