Produce Donations

Our primary interest is to insure that our entire harvested, edible surplus is distributed to people who will eat it. To that end, we offer weekly donations of our harvested surplus after CSA distributions to local hunger-relief agencies. Volunteers from Post Oil Solutions redistribute our extras through the Vermont Food Bank. The Northfield (MA) Food Pantry also picks up weekly boxes for their distributions to several dozen families.
We have welcomed gleaning groups to help with bumper fall harvests. Gleaners have come from Post Oil Solutions, Brattleboro School for International Training, Northfield Area Progressives, the Winchester Food Pantry, and the Winchester Knights of Columbus. Recipients have included The Community Kitchen in Keene, the Vermont and New Hampshire Food Banks, and various Thanksgiving free supers.
We welcome the help of volunteers in initiating and expanding our produce donation efforts, particularly in field gleaning. Please contact us if you have ideas and energy!
